God Bless Alexis

Yes, it's on. And it's glorious. I would like to send a personal shout-out to Bill from Bloomingdale Air for his prompt, honest and courteous service. He showed up yesterday morning 10 minutes after my call of desperation, determined the problem, and had us up and running about 6 hours later. I won't say what I'd like to say to the "other" A/C company because I like to think I have a touch of class.
We're trotting through another week of summer and I can't believe it's almost the end of June. It's hot. I'm glad I'm not one of those people who can only visit Florida during the summer.
One of our neighbors recently had a tragedy occur. His 21 year old daughter was struck and killed by a car last week. (RJ and) I had the chance to have a conversation with him the other day, on one of our many walks back and forth from my in-laws (see? not having A/C is sometimes a GOOD thing). It seems two nights before she was killed, she told her dad she wanted him to take her to church the following day. While they were at church, she stood up and accepted Jesus into her life, and said she wanted to become a Christian. Her father told me that the only thing getting him through this was that that had happened. He knows she is with God, and it was all part of the plan. He also asked me to not take any minute with my kids for granted, that each day was a gift. As parents, sometimes I think we need a reminder of that. Days are hectic, kids are draining at times, and stress levels climb. At the end of the day, it's easy to slip into a couch-coma and forget how important what we do all day really is. I am both saddened and thankful that out of a horrible tragedy, I was able to see that.

You got me with this post Danielle! My guard was down because I thought it was just a funny post about the A/C company and then - wham! Sniff. Sniff. Grateful for my little munchkins every day. Lucky to have each and every moment with them....even the bad ones! And there were some of those today. LOL.
