It's been a long, hot week. But the A/C is fixed, everyone is well and it's the weekend!
For Jackson's preschool graduation, he had to learn the "Star Spangled Banner". I don't know what genius at Montessori Corporate was responsible for the idea of trying to teach 4 and 5 year olds the "Star Spangled Banner", but it's almost impossible for them to get it right. Heck, I'm an adult and sometimes I don't remember the lyrics. Anyway, recently Jackson and RJ have been singing a lot of patriotic songs thanks to a CD we borrowed from the library. The "Banner" is on it. Still, they can't get it right and it's just the funniest thing to listen to what they come up with:
~"Jose, can you seeeeeeee??? By the lawn's dirty grime..." is just a small example of what I've been hearing to the tune of "Star Spangled Banner."
TV at night is still a struggle. We've been enjoying "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here" because we're fools. Last night we watched "Boogie Nights", borrowed from the DVD library of my friend, Shannon. Yowza. Definitely not a family movie.
RJ, Jackson and I have been biking Jackson to school in the mornings. We all ride, and Jackson parks his bike, then RJ and I ride home. It's been interesting to say the least, but so much fun. And it's not too hot yet at that time of day. This morning when RJ and I got back to the house, he dumped his water bottle over his head, sighed and said, "I'm exhausted, I must be getting old..." Don't know who he heard that from:)
We may beach the weekend away since it's Father's Day and the beach is where Ray wants to be. Hopefully, there won't be hundreds of stingrays again. Didn't love that.
