It's Saturday morning and Ray is working. I love and hate this time of year. Beautiful weather, more swimming, trips to the beach, longer days of sunshine, but less Ray. He also wears his "stress face" a lot during the spring. He says it's a good stress.
After the boys went to sleep last night we watched Fireproof. Horrible acting (Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains was the lead if that tells you anything), but an amazing, eye opening movie. I highly recommend it, especially from Red Box, where DVDs are a $1 per night. But we were morons and ordered it through PPV for $4.99 because we were too lazy to drive to Walgreen's.
When I no longer work at a private school, I will write a tell-all book about the parents I come in contact with on a daily basis and how nuts some of them are, and how I am consistently shocked by the things they do (and DON'T do) and how children are a direct product of you as a parent and as a person. I will be a millionaire. I'll leave the great parents out of my book because that won't make for good reading. People just want to know the dirt.
Jackson has chosen his six friends that he wants to invite to his little birthday party over Spring Break. He chose three boys and three girls. I asked him why he chose the three girls because normally at this age, the boys play with the boys and the girls play with the girls. He told me, "well, I kind of like those girls and we should include everyone, right Mom?" Politically correct, even at his young age, I love it. He does play with the chosen three girls though, one of them has even been over for playdates.
Well, we're headed out for a bike ride. We've been doing lots of biking and the boys are really getting good at remembering safety and the rules.
And last but not least-HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMAS! We love you so much!
