TGIF!

If I have to watch one more kid eat their boogers this week I'm going to BASH MY HEAD AGAINST A BRICK WALL!!!!!!! I know this is a normal trait of a child, especially at the preschool level, but I'm so happy my kids don't do it. Trust me, they have enough bad habits I could point out, but popping boogs like candy isn't one of them-THANK GOD.
I love Fridays. It's trash day, (and before I go on about why else I love Fridays I'd like to point out that in Jersey, we had trash day ONCE a week and recycling every other week. By the time the recycling man came in Jersey, I swore our neighbors thought we were alchoholics because of the beer and wine bottle build-up. And God forbid we missed a week, can you say AA??) I love trash day because I'm trying to take the "live simpler" life approach. The night before trash day, I walk around the house when no one is looking, and throw things away. Happy Meal toys (and I don't allow McDonald's but maybe once a month, so I don't understand the build-up of Happy Meal toys), old receipts, thingamabobbers, toys I hate, clothes with stains or that I've grown tired of, you name it-I chuck it on Trash Day Eve. No one ever asks for the objects that are missing. We live in a world with too much stuff. I'm taking back control of the stuff's power over us. I saw an Oprah the other day about living simple and I'm going to adhere to it, or at least try to. But I'm not giving up my Ipod, internet access, Tivo or my Kaukauna port wine cheese and the good bottle of Cabernet.
