The weekend is still in full swing at our house, even though it's Monday afternoon. All the neighborhood kids are across the street playing baseball and being loud instead of at school, thanks to MLK. Jackson and RJ are cleaning the lanai with Ray, who is still hanging onto that poor tortoise, who seems to be soaking up some much needed sun right about now. Poor thing, don't you agree he should be set free?
Mom came over this weekend, so since we had some built-in babysitting, we had a game night with some friends on Saturday night. It was SO FUN and bonus-right in our neighborhood so no driving far (why as I get older does that seem to be so important to me? If something isn't in my "5mile radius" I get weird about going). I found out that I can't play Guitar Hero, but now I want to buy it and learn so I can beat everyone. I can see how it's addicting. There was also a singing game thingy which I'm totally addicted to now and also want to purchase. We've waited a really long time to buy any kind of gaming system. We were really planning on waiting until the boys were much older. I don't think we can hold out much longer...
Yesterday morning was the long run! I needed to do 8 miles and I'm quite impressed with myself that I did in fact do 8.3 miles. Yep, that's right. 8.3, and yes, the .3 needs to be there so don't laugh. Robin says I'm three weeks ahead of schedule so I'm pretty stoked. It wasn't bad at all, and I really didn't feel all that awful afterward. In fact, I could've kept going but I dressed too warmly and was really starting to sweat and be uncomfortable. No deep thoughts on this run. The only discovery I made this time is that I need new running shoes STAT. And new music for my iPod so if anyone has any requests, please feel free to "comment". I will be working on that later tonite.
Yesterday afternoon we went to G's and Paul's for the Eagles game. I think everyone knows what happened with that, but at least the party was fun. The kids were exhausted, and bedtime was short and sweet. Ray watched the Steelers game but I couldn't take any more football so I watched E!True Hollywood Story Rock Wives in the other room. Glad I didn't marry a rock star. I did way better than a rock star in the husband department;-)
