My sister, nieces and nephew should be boarding their plane in a few hours to head down to the Sunshine State for some much needed visiting and R&R! We absolutely cannot wait! We don't really have all that much planned but will for sure be busy swimming, playing games, and catching up. This morning on the way to school, I told Jackson he only had "2 more wake-ups" before they come. He didn't really get it, so I said "you only have to wake up 2 more times and then they'll be here." He got a worried look on his face and said, "I'm only waking up 2 more times? Then I'm not going to sleep ever again!" Kids take everything so literally.
The other night after reading bedtime stories I decided to do the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer with the boys. So we all folded our hands to pray, and I said it slowly so they could catch on. RJ looked up afterward and said "Amen, but how can I dive if I'm sleeping?" He thought I said "If I should DIVE before I wake," instead of "If I should DIE before I wake". Jackson just shook his head at him and we both started laughing. I explained that it was "die before I wake" but he didn't like the sound of that either. They both asked that we not say that prayer anymore...guess I can't blame them. It is kind of morbid for little ones if you think about it.

That is too cute. When we say it we change it up a bit: Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Angels watch me through the night, until I wake inmornings light. Amen." Much less morbid that way!
