To nap...or not to nap...

About two weeks ago RJ decided he wasn't napping anymore. After pouting for about 3 days, I decided to buck up and deal with it. After all, he's almost 3 and Jackson stopped napping right after he turned 2. PLUS, he would start going to bed earlier at night, just like Jackson did. So we settled into that little schedule for about a week.
Every day this week by about 3 or 4 o'clock, RJ turns into Chucky. He screams, cries, hits, flails about and is pissed off at people for breathing too close to him. To me-and everyone with a pulse-this is a sure sign that this kid is NOT ready to give up naps. So taking Ray's advice, I decided that around the "Witching Hour" I would get RJ heavily involved in an activity so he doesn't curl up on the couch and go to Dreamland. It's really hard to keep a kid awake. So yesterday I caved and let him take a nap. He was up until about 9 (!) and then back up for the day at 5am (!). As I type this, he is passed out on his bed. WHAT DO I DO???
I'll take any advice you care to give me.
P.S. He gets sent to his room around 12:30pm daily for a rest time, in which he "reads" books and talks to himself and plays with anything he can get his hands on.

We need to find you a "Good morning good night, yoga CD. It is supposed to be great to calm and get ready for bed and/or start your day! It comes with a chart of "Animal" poses so the kids know what they are trying to accomplish!

It is supposed to be great!

Yoga sounds good-and I could do it with them! We all need a little balance...

Kelly Ripa uses this one. She only uses the nighttime one and it puts the kids right to sleep! I found the website for it.
