As we were crossing over the bridge to come back into Tampa, we felt as if we were driving into Armageddon. Bolts of lightening so huge and close, it felt as if we could have rolled down the window and grabbed them. Scary. Thank God Ray was driving, because I would have pulled over and curled up in the fetal position. Ray, however, remained cool as a cucumber the entire way. He even helped me talk the boys out of screeching and chucking objects up to the front seat in aggravation because the ride was "takin' a long tiiiiiiiime"(even in the storm, we made it home in an hour and ten minutes AND they watched a movie the entire way). So after what was probably the worst thunder and lightening storm I've ever experienced in a car during our ride home-complete with chunks of hail and lots of whining from the backseat-we were in need of a good homemade "G's meal" and an adult drink, so we stopped at Gina and Paul's before home for dinner and ended up staying for about two hours (I thought we'd only make it less than an hour). The kids were very excited to see everyone and remained in good spirits, but inevitably meltdowns were right around the corner so we packed it in. We're all wiped, although you-know-who is still awake, lol. He did sleep for almost three hours today though, so I guess that's not unusual. Jackson has been out for about an hour now and I'm falling asleep while I write this so I'll post more pics tomorrow.
My own bed will feel good tonite...
